Jeff's Info
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being interested in my work.

As many of you know, I’ve been drawing fantasy dragons, creatures, animals, and people since the late 1960s. I like to think my drawings reflect a light hearted, whimsical, and loving view of the world. Years ago at an art fair, I started writing little verses to go along with my drawings in an effort to help some folks "get" that my dragons are mostly nonviolent and live in a gentle universe of humor, innocence, peace, and friendship.

In 2002 I retired from a rewarding career teaching elementary and middle school art. I now live with my wife, Peggy, near our daughter and her husband, in Loves Park Illinois. After 34 years in the classroom I enjoy spending lots of peaceful time at a drawing board or work bench in my studio and taking long walks in the state park across the street.

My alphabets are near and dear to my heart. I worked on them for the better part of 25 years. They are as much a part of me as anything I’ve ever done. Part of my soul is in my alphabets.

My walking sticks are fairly new for me and are a result of my daily hikes in the woods, fields and along the creeks in Rock Cut State Park and before that in Shabbona Lake State park.

I did my first folk art clock in the fall of 2008. Peggy wanted a clock for our house and I thought I could do an interesting one based on one of my drawings. I guess I did. At least Peggy liked it, and I can’t remember ever having more fun. So I guess I’ll keep making them.

Thanks again for your interest. Email me if you want more information or just to say “Hi”.
